Corporate Activities on Human Rights; focusing on 70 companies’ cases (2005)
BLHRRI established “Index of corporate practices on human rights” and conducted a preliminary survey based on the index, in cooperation with member enterprises of Osaka Industrial Federation of Dowa and Human Rights Problems in 2004. The report resulted from 70 replies from companies shows how CSR in Japan has developed and how Japanese companies consider human rights issues in CSR trend. Human Rights Reporting by Corporation: focusing on CSR Reports 2006 (2008)
BLHRRI analyzed 521 Reports (CSR reports 2005) and 593 Reports (CSR reports 2006) according the index updated. Two main purposes of our research are to show how Japanese companies develop its CSR reporting and how they have focused on human rights in their CSR activities. In addition to result of two purposes, some good practices are included.

As the next step, BLHRRI engaged in collection on good practices by Japanese companies on human rights. The selection of good practices is based on sincere survey on CSR reports (323 companies in 2009 and 304 in 2010), according to categories and criteria drawn from the BLHRRI index.
Guidelines on Human Rights-based CSR: Self-checking Guidelines on where your management and performance on human rights are (2011)
In the guidelines, focusing on importance of human rights due diligence by John Ruggie which is integrated into GC, ISO26000, OECD guideline and other global CSR initiatives, we use the term “human rights-based CSR” meaning that human rights is not just an element of CSR but a perspective throughout CSR.
English translation of the guidelines was made for broader introduction.
