Buraku Liberation News, Aug 1998 issue (No.103)

BLRI became the Buraku Liberation and Human Rights Research Institute.

Based on the approval of the 48th General Assembly of the Buraku Liberation Research Institute held on June 24, the name of the institute was changed to the Buraku Liberation and Human Rights Research Institute starting from July 1, 1998.

In facing the 21st century, we feel required to connect the solution of Buraku discrimination with the elimination of all forms of discrimination as well as the promotion of human rights.

Considering such background and taking the opportunity of our 30th anniversary, we decided to develop our name as well as the scope of our activities.
