The National Committee for Buraku Liberation (1946-1955)


After Japan's defeat in WWII, the Buraku liberation movement revived its activities as the National Committee for Buraku Liberation. The movement called for a complete solution to the Buraku problem under the post-War democracy with agendas including the restoration of Buraku industries, the guaranteeing of the livelihoods of Buraku peasants through land reform, and the prohibition of discriminatory practices.
