Rural Buraku Communities - After the Enactment of the Special Measures Laws


After the enactment of the Special Measures Laws, the living conditions and environment of rural Buraku communities was greatly improved through measures such as protection work on riverbanks. The employment situation, however, is still unstable as people cannot rely on agriculture alone to make a living. This photo shows the present Buraku community from the previous picture after comprehensive town planning actively involved by the residents was implemented.
